Two Covid-related deaths were recorded in West Khasi Hills today, the Health Department informed. There were also 61 new cases and 20 recoveries in the state.
There have now been three deaths linked to Covid-19 in Meghalaya this month, with the other coming on July 7 in East Garo Hills.
There were 12 new infections in East Khasi Hills, two in East Garo Hills, one in East Jaiñtia Hills, five in Ri-Bhoi, three in South Garo Hills, 36 in West Garo Hills and two in West Khasi Hills.
Ten recoveries were in East Khasi Hills, one in North Garo Hills, one in South Garo Hills, one in South West Garo Hills, six in West Garo Hills and one in West Jaiñtia Hills.
There are now 397 active Covid-19 cases in the state – East Garo Hills four, East Jaiñtia Hills one, East Khasi Hills 105, North Garo Hills six, Ri-Bhoi 50, South Garo Hills six, South West Garo Hills 13, West Garo Hills 200, West Jaiñtia Hills 10 and West Khasi Hills two.
In all, Meghalaya has had 94,572 Covid-19 cases, out of which 92,578 have recovered and 1,597 have died from the virus. Forty-eight patients are being treated in hospital with the disease – 37 in East Khasi Hills, five in Ri-Bhoi, four in West Garo Hills and two in West Jaiñtia Hills.
