In its continued drive against illicit liquor, the Excise Department staff of East Khasi Hills conducted raids in restaurants and stalls in Shillong and its outskirts where 20 cases were uncovered in November, wherein indigenous liquor totalling 80.65 litres and 126.255 litres of IMFL were seized.
Seventeen persons were arrested in connection with these cases under the Excise Act, a press release informed today.
