A new Covid-19 cluster emerged in East Jaiñtia Hills, the Health Department announced today, with the detection of 13 cases in the Goldstone cement plant.
In all there were 18 new cases reported today, with 17 recoveries and no new fatalities.
Of the new cases today, East Jaiñtia Hills reported 13, East Khasi Hills four and West Garo Hills one.
The recoveries were reported from East Khasi Hills (16) and West Jaiñtia Hills (one).
In all, Meghalaya has had 13,687 Covid-19 cases, of which 161 are active, 13,382 have recovered and 144 have died from the virus. The recovery rate has declined to 97.77 per cent while the fatality rate is 1.05 per cent.
The Health Department also informed that around 1,650 Covid tests were carried out in the state in the last 24 hours.
