In its continued drive against illicit liquor, the district administration of East Khasi Hills conducted raids in restaurants and stalls in the town and its outskirts where 16 cases were uncovered in April wherein an amount of indigenous liquor totalling 136.50 litres and 24.55 litres of IMFL were seized.
Thirteen people were arrested in connection with these cases under the Excise Act, a press release informed today.
The cases are under different stages of investigation/prosecution.
