In its continued drive against illicit liquor, the Excise Department staff of East Khasi Hills conducted raids in restaurants and stalls in the town and its outskirts where 13 cases were uncovered in May wherein indigenous liquor totalling 22.10 litres and 46.885 litres of IMFL were seized.
Twelve people were arrested in connection with these cases under the Excise Act, a press release informed today.
The cases are under different stages of investigation/prosecution.
