State TMC president Charles Pyngrope today said that serving people also means taking the responsibility to serve justice.
Addressing the second day of the ‘Winds of Change’ event organised by the Meghalaya TMC Students’ Union here today Pyngrope encouraged students to be responsible for imparting values in the society. “Being a public servant and serving the people of the state means we have to take responsibility so that justice prevails”, he said.
He also encouraged students to protect the environment. Citing example of Bhutan being a zero-emission state he explained about the importance of conserving the environment by the future generation.
The event was marked by singing and fashion show competitions. The students performed pop, hip-hop, country, and Bollywood songs. In the fashion show the students presented their creative ideas, resonating with the theme of the event.
A large number of students from colleges in the city like St. Edmund’s, Lady Keane, St. Anthony’s and Shillong College showcased their talents at the event.
The ‘Winds of Change’, a youth centric event began yesterday at the Don Bosco Hall, Laitumkhrah will conclude tomorrow where students will interact with the Leader of the Opposition, Dr. Mukul Sangma, and Opposition Chief Whip George B. Lyngdoh.
