Shillong, Nov 1: A two-day national seminar on ‘Viksit Bharat @2047: The Role of Northeast India in India’s Development Trajectory’ concluded at the William Carey University here yesterday.
The seminar served as a platform for academicians, scholars, and policymakers to deliberate on strategies for inclusive growth, sustainable development, and regional integration as India moves toward its centenary of independence.
Held in collaboration with the Indian Political Science Association (IPSA) and supported by the Chief Minister’s Fund, Meghalaya, and the North Eastern Council (NEC), the seminar was attended by MLA and Chairman of the Meghalaya Khasi & Village Industries Board Subir Marak.
The valedictory address was delivered by Prof. J. Doungel, Executive Member of IPSA, who emphasised the critical contribution of the Northeast region to India’s developmental vision for 2047.
