Shillong, Nov 1: The 9th District Industrial Exhibition concluded on October 30 at the BADO Multi Facility Centre, Ampati, South West Garo Hills.
The exhibition aimed at promoting local artisans, entrepreneurs, and their innovative products. The event featured 22 stalls from 24 enterprises, showcasing a range of handicrafts, woven products, and processed food items produced exclusively by local talent.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Additional Deputy Commissioner Dr WCR Marak in the presence of Joint Director, Commerce & Industries Department S. Paswet and DCIC General Manager NFR Marak along with other dignitaries and officials,
The Additional DC visited the stalls and interacted with artisans, and offered encouragement and guidance while appreciating their craftsmanship and efforts toward self-reliance and excellence.
Organized by the Office of the General Manager, District Commerce & Industries Centre (DCIC), Ampati, the exhibition is expected to create marketing opportunities, promote entrepreneurship, and support sustainable livelihoods within the district. The platform facilitated collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and product visibility for small industries and self-help groups.
The event highlighted the rich cultural heritage and industrial potential of South West Garo Hills, bringing together traditional and modern craftsmanship. It also featured food courts and live musical performances, adding a vibrant, festive appeal and drawing public participation.
