Terming the recent clash of VPP-NPP supporters as unwarranted, Deputy Chief Minister and NPP State president Prestone Tynsong today alleged that VPP supporters shouting ‘Ha U Prah’ are so desperate.
During the election meeting of NPP at Umsning, a clash erupted after VPP supporters shouted ‘Ha U Prah’ slogans. Tynsong was also present at the meeting.
Terming the incident as unfortunate, Tynsong said that such kind of incidents should not be allowed or entertained.
“I’ve spoken to the Returning Officer and to the election machinery that they have to be more proactive and stringent to ensure that such things don’t happen. Even at Mairang, the same incident happened and also at Jaiaw. In every meeting, the instances happened only with the same political party ‘Prah’. No such incidents happened with other parties,” Tynsong said.
Tynsong said that he is unable to understand why such incidents happened. “Is it because they know that they are losing? I don’t understand why they are acting so desperately,” he said.
Urging all political parties to maintain the dignity of the State, Tynsong said that the election campaign should be carried out peacefully to allow people to vote and decide peacefully.
“Let’s maintain peace and maintain decorum,” he said.
