Opposition Voice of the People Party (VPP) has condemned the cold-blooded murder of a labourer at Mawlai Mawroh and urged the state government to ensure that rule of law prevails in the state.
“No one has the right to take the life of any one. Right to life is the basic human right of each and every individual irrespective of community, ethnicity, race, caste and religion guaranteed both under the International as well as the laws of the Country,” VPP spokesperson Batskhem Myrboh said in a statement today.
“We urge the state government to take steps and measures to ensure that rule of law prevail in the state. The incident has further tarnished the image of the state which has already been known as the land of abuse of power and corruption perpetrated by those in power,” Myrboh added.
