A public bus shed was inaugurated yesterday for the residents of Sohkhwai village in Ri-Bhoi.
The shed was funded and constructed by members of the Sohkhwai-Umdu unit of the Federation of Khasi, Jaintia and Garo People (FKJGP) to ease the transportation challenges faced by the community, especially during the rainy season.
The bus shed was inaugurated by the FKJGP’s general secretary Eldie Newton Lyngdoh, other members of the pressure group, District, village leaders and other dignitaries.
On the same day, the new office bearers of Sohkhwai-Umdu unit were confirmed by Lyngdoh following the completion of the term of the previous leadership team.
