Union Minister of State Nimuben Jayantibhai Bambhaniya paid a courtesy visit to Governor Chandrashekhar H Vijayashankar at the Raj Bhavan today.
The Governor and the minister discussed various issues related to consumer affairs, food security, and public distribution in the North-East region.
The discussions also touched upon the implementation of central schemes aimed at ensuring food security and strengthening the public distribution system in Meghalaya.
The Governor appreciated the efforts of the Ministry in streamlining consumer welfare initiatives and ensuring equitable distribution of essential commodities across the country. He also highlighted the need for enhanced cooperation between the central and state governments to address region-specific challenges in Meghalaya.
Bambhaniya assured continued support from the central government in strengthening consumer affairs and food distribution mechanisms in the state.
