Shillong, Oct 28: Union Minister of State for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Tourism Suresh Gopi held a review meeting on implementation of various government schemes and overall functioning of various line departments in South Garo Hills district.
The meeting was held at the New Circuit House conference hall which was attended by Deputy Commissioner Sumit Kumar Singh, Superintendent of Police Shailendra Bamaniya, and other senior officials.
The Union Minister expressed satisfaction with the district’s performance, emphasising the need for further development of IT and connectivity, provided constructive feedback on projects and stressed the need for a mental clinic, and noted issues raised by departments.
Gopi also visited Anganwadi Centre, Baghmara Civil Hospital, and the Government Higher Secondary School and interacted with students.
