Union Minister for Labour & Employment Shobha Karandlaje today visited South Garo Hills district and chaired a review meeting with various line departments on implementation of central schemes.
The union minister enquired into the initiatives that have been carried out by the government departments in implementing schemes under the Industries & Commerce, Labour Department, Education, Tourism, Skill Development, State Roads and National Highway, Health Department, Social Welfare, Border Area Development, Agri- Horticulture Department, PHE and others.
During an interactive discussion on the issues and challenges on the implementation of schemes she suggested for improvement on various sectors and emphasised on the need to generate public awareness on the centrally sponsored programmes and schemes. She also underlined the importance of registration under Aadhaar, E-Shram, and National Career Service etc.
The union minister also stressed on the collective responsibility in bringing development to the district and to achieve the vision of Vikshit Bharat by 2047 as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It is the endeavour of the present government to bring all round development and progress in all parts of our country on an equal footing, she said.
Karandlaje also visited the Anganwadi centres and interacted with the beneficiaries from ICDS, PMEGP Scheme, Labour, and MSRLS and held one-on-one interaction with the people and sought their feedback on the various centrally sponsored welfare schemes.
