Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong who is also in charge of the PWD (Roads) today washes off his hands from the incident where a doctor died on the spot as his car fell into a ditch of a washed out road in Ïongnoh on December 7.
“I express my sympathy for the family of the doctor who lost his life in the incident but at the same time government cannot be blamed for the poor condition of the road,” Tynsong said.
It may be noted that negligence and apathy by the PWD authorities has led to the tragic death of Dr Sanjoy K Shylla, a medical officer at Khliehriat CHC.
The road which connects Chyrmang village was lying unrepaired after it was washed away by monsoon rains in June, 2022 and authorities have not put up any barricade to signal commuters about the danger.
Meanwhile, a ‘road closed’ signage was erected and barricades were laid near the broken road today following the fatal death of the doctor.
