The College of Community Science, Tura, came third in the three-day CAU Regional Agri-Fair 2023-2024, organised by CAU Imphal and sponsored by the Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, which concluded today in Nagaland.
CCS Tura’s exhibition stall had won third prize at the event, a press release stated today.
In a separate release, the College of Agriculture at Kyrdemkulai said that 10 farmers from Meghalaya as well as faculty, scientists and students from the college, led by Prof Dwipendra Thakuria, the college’s Dean, also attended the event.
Inputs for the farmers’ benefit and advancement, including biofertilizers, high-yielding hybrid sweet corn seeds, high-quality quality protein maize, and onions, etc., were also distributed during the event. The conclave was concluded with the aim to develop a vision document to empower the farmers and youth of the regions by inviting all the stakeholders, enthusiasts, and farmers to join hands in this transformative journey for the North East region.
