The office of the Deputy Inspector General of Police has begun a two-day residential programme on ‘Investigation of Cases under NDPS Act’ as part of the force’s war on drugs.
The police have been extra focused on the drug menace since LR Bishnoi took over as Director General. This programme is to help police investigate cases properly, correctly seize drugs, ensure proper documentation, collection of evidence and charge-sheet cases so that criminals are put behind bars.
The event into the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act began today and is being hosted by the Police Training School/Meghalaya Police Academy, Umran, Ri-Bhoi where a number of experienced resource persons are delivering lectures on various topics and sharing their experiences for the benefit of the trainees.
The training programme was inaugurated by the DGP in the presence of Deputy IGP Davis NR Marak and Superintendent of Police Vivek Syiem.
