The open to all traditional archery competition of the West Jaiñtia District Sports Association (WJHDA) concluded at the Kiang Nangbah Stadium Dongmihsngi in Jowai today.
The winners in the double category are Lamet Phawa and Karlin Phawa, both received a cash prize of Rs 20,000 followed by Saiñmiki Suwer and Sajemiki Laloo in second place. They took home Rs 10,000.
Lamet Phawa also won in the single category and Embok Phawa stood second.
Organisers said that the competition was organised to preserve the age-old tradition of archery and to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of the association, working towards upliftment of sports in the district.
Kiang Nangbah Ïasiat Khnam Memorial Society president, Pearlet Toi attended the closing function of the competition in the presence of WJHDA working president EMH Passah, honorary general secretary Lammat-oo Laloo and other members of the association.
