The East Jaiñtia Hills Deputy Commissioner (Supply) has made display of price list of all essential items mandatory in stores.
This is done to safeguard the interest of consumers and the general public at large and to prevent untoward inflation of essential commodities and to avoid manipulation, etc, the DC said.
All traders and open market dealers have been directed to properly display the price list for easy viewing of consumers. Violation of the directive will attract stringent action as per provisions of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, the order said.
