A tourist taxi driver was stabbed to death allegedly by four men at Kynroh taxi stand in Nongstoiñ last night, police said.
The victim has been identified as Macborn Bonnyson Kharbani (29) a resident of Upper New Nongstoiñ.
The incident happened at around 12:15 pm when Kharbani was dropping off passengers.
According to the family, the victim had returned from Shillong when a group of four men surrounded him. During an altercation, one of them stabbed him on the chest. The family said the victim was on the phone talking to them during the incident.
Kharbani was rushed to the Civil Hospital but was declared dead by doctors there.
The family has lodged an FIR and named on Medius Mawlot of Mawkaton as one of the suspects involved in the crime.
