The All India Trinamool Congress has said that several Meghalaya TMC party workers were attacked by NPP workers at Charbatapara booth in Phulbari assembly constituency of West Garo Hills on Tuesday night.
The attack took place at around 10.30 pm when NPP workers vandalised the premises where Meghalaya TMC meeting was conducting a meeting, a press release from the party said.
“The NPP workers thrashed and barged in the meeting premises creating a ruckus. Following which, Nozrul Hoque, 59, was injured. Party workers have rushed him to the nearby Phulbari CHC Hospital,” the party stated.
TMC candidate SG Esmatur Mominin is in contact with the injured party workers.
“Gory visuals have emerged from the spot in which the Meghalaya TMC worker can be seen bleeding profusely,” the statement reads.
