The Meghalaya Trinamool Congress has decided to embark on a door-to-door campaign and set up registration desks in every constituency for its WE Card under the Meghalaya Financial Inclusion for Women Empowerment Scheme (MFI WE).
Stating that due to massive outreach campaign the party has received over 30,000 registrations in less than a week, the TMC said it will reach out to all the household leaving no stones unturned to ensure through the scheme, life of every woman in the state of Meghalaya gets uplifted.
The TMC’s flagship scheme assures a guaranteed income support of Rs.1000 every month (12,000 annually) to one woman in each household in the state.
Leader of opposition, Dr Mukul Sangma during a state level party meeting held in Tura today said, “It is an unconditional scheme and curated keeping in mind the heavy losses that the state economy suffered due to the pandemic, alongside mis-governance and several scams perpetrated by the current NPP-led MDA government.”
Highlighting the party’s vision to empower the people of the State through the recently launched scheme, he said, “As a political party, it is our responsibility and binding obligation to carry out the promises made in the manifesto once we receive the mandate to form the government and it is the spirit of democracy.”
All aspiring candidates across Garo Hills, sitting MLAs, Ex-MLAs, MDCs, Ex-MDCs, block and district presidents, district coordinators and convenors were present at the meeting.
