Meghalaya TMC inducted former Wagesik MDC, Sengnal N Sangma and Bishal Arengh into its fold today.
Sangma had unsuccessfully contested from Baghmara in the last Assembly election from the NPP. Arengh was a UDP contender in the last MDC elections from Silkigre.
They were welcomed by Trinamool Congress Legislature Party Leader and Leader of Opposition, Dr. Mukul Sangma, State Mahila President Selma D Shira and other party leaders.
“After 5 years of misrule, NPP-led MDA’s tenure will be over and that’s why we have to constitute a fresh assembly in the next session; for that, Meghalaya Trinamool Congress will contest on all the 60 seats,” Sangma said.
Stating that the State “hungers for change”, he said “It is our duty as elected representatives to be able to respond to the collective desire for change. Our biggest duty is to fulfill the mandates given to us by the people.”
Sengnal said, “I am joining Meghalaya TMC today to work with the visionary leader, Dr. Mukul Sangma. He is not only a man of principle but also a leader who has always fulfilled his responsibilities with utmost dedication.”
