South West Garo Hills police arrested three persons accused of carrying out robbery in a home at Mahendraganj.
Superintendent of Police, Vikash Kumar said the accused have been identified as Walseng A Sangma, Rakkam M Sangma and Batseng A Marak all residents of villages under Dalu PS in West Garo Hills district.
The accused were arrested in a counter-insurgency operation launched by Mahendraganj PS and personnel of the district police. They were booked for allegedly carrying out a robbery on July 11 at around 11:45 pm.
Kumar said as per the FIR lodged the next day, the accused (who were unknown armed persons then) with camouflage dress forcefully entered a house and took Rs. 11,600 from the complainant and told him that they would return again to take more money and threatened to kill him.
Police recovered two daggers, camouflage dress and a motorcycle (Glamour) bearing registration number ML 08A 8035 from the possession of the accused persons which was used for committing the robbery.
Investigation is on in the case, Kumar added.
