A three-day entrepreneurship awareness camp got underway in the Department of Science and Technology (DST), NEHU today and attended by 75 students.
The camp is sponsored by the National Science & Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEDB), Department of Science and Technology (DST and the course is being sponsored by the Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI), Ahmadabad.
The experts from industry and academia will deliberate with the participants to make them aware about entrepreneurship, start-up, innovation, marketing an idea and generation of resources for product commercialization.
This is the third camp being organized in the University, which will conclude on May 15.
Dr. Sudip Paul, Teacher-Incharge, BME Department, NEHU, Dr. Dinesh Bhatia, Course Coordinator and Shyamal Mandal in the Biomedical Engineering Department attended the inaugural function.
Dr. D. Bhatia outlined the objectives of organizing the entrepreneurship awareness camp for young entrepreneurs and how it would benefit the society in the long run. He highlighted the available opportunities and challenges for the young entrepreneurs who wish to venture in the field of start-ups and innovations especially when India has recently become as the world’s most populous country overtaking China.
Dr. Paul highlighted the role the role of technology and how it could be employed to meet the needs of industry and self-sustain the technological advancements.
Mandal highlighted the role of start-ups, entrepreneur and innovations to develop new ideas and knowledge for encouraging young individuals to find solutions to the problems of the society.
