The Meghalaya and central government’s first formal talks with members of the banned Hynñiewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC), is delayed due to the situation in Manipur.
The tripartite talks is scheduled to be held during the first week of this month.
“The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) is quite busy with the different developments in Manipur and it has made things slightly more complicated. So we are in touch with the ministry,” Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma told reporters today.
He said the centre is serious about the peace talks but the only hiccup is the complications arising out of the strife-torn Manipur.
