Shillong, May 10: Meghandini Mahila Samiti, in association with the Directorate of Arts and Culture and Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, celebrated the 165th birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore at the Shillong Secondary School Auditorium premises in Forest Colony, Shillong.
The main attractions were Tagore songs, dance on Tagore songs (solo and group), recitation (English, Bengali, Hindi and Khasi), essay writing and portrait competition on Tagore. Present at the programme was local MLA Alexander Laloo Hek and Bikas Paul Choudhury, a retired Chief Engineer of the Public Health Engineering Department.
