The ”Swarnim Vijay Mashaal” — the victory flame to celebrate India’s win over Pakistan in the 1971 war entered 101 Area of operation on Monday.
The Mashaal which was flagged off on December 16, 2020 from National War Memorial was received at Sankosh River Bridge in the Assam-West Bengal border.
A grand reception was organised by 51 Sub Area in which the Mashaal was received on behalf of 101 Area. Veterans of the area and civil dignitaries were present on the occasion.
The celebrations at the bridge culminated with dispatch of the Mashaal to Tura in West Garo Hills district of Meghalaya, where it will remain in the State of Meghalaya August 8, after which it will move to Assam.
