In an effort to mark the “Clean India Healthy India” initiative NEIGRIHMS today kick-started the Swachhta Pakhwada program as a part of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
From today till April 15, the institute will focus on cleanliness, sanitation and hygiene drives in campus and in localities around Shillong.
As a part of launch of programme, doctors, staff and patients today took a collective Swachhta pledge in presence of NEIGRIHMS Director Prof. Nalin Mehta, Medical Superintendent Prof. C Daniala, Dean NEIGRIHMS Prof. Asima Bhattachryya and Amanda Jyrwa (President Rotary Club Shillong).
NEIGRIHMS has planned various activities including cleanliness drives, health conference, debate and skit competition over next 15 days to increase the cleanliness and hygiene awareness amongst the staff, patients and public in collaboration with Rotary Club Shillong.
After the pledge a ‘Shramdan’, activity (voluntary cleanliness) and a tree plantation session was held at the premises of the institute in collaboration with Rotary Club Shillong.
