The North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health & Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS) today inaugurated the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ fortnight initiative with a pledge.
The fortnight will be observed till October 17.
Officiating Director, Senior Prof. (Dr.) Vandana Rapheal, Medical Superintendent, Prof. (Dr) C. Daniala, faculty members, nursing officers, section heads, students and staff participated in the pledge.
Dr Daniala said that NEIGRIHMS is one of the cleanest hospitals in the nation which is evident from the visitors of the Institute who have praised about its cleanliness. He also appreciated the work being done by the sanitation staff in keeping the hospital clean and healthy.
Dr Rapheal, mentioned that NEIGRIHMS along with being clean visibly it is also actually clean of non-visible organisms which may cause infections. She said that the sanitation team along with the infection control team have been doing great job in keeping the NEIGRIHMS healthy to reduce hospital acquired infections.
Various activities will be held in coming days including Waste to Art Competition, community cleaning drive and health check-up camps for sanitation staff to promote the campaign.
