A 40-year-old man, identified as Suku Mejar, reportedly took his own life in Donggate Nongpoh today morning.
Mejar’s body was found by villagers hanging inside an abandoned building.
The deceased, a daily wage labourer, is the father of four but was living separately from his wife and children. The reason for suicide is unknown.
Following a formal inquiry by police, Mejar’s body was taken to Nongpoh Civil Hospital for an autopsy. Police are continuing to investigate.
