Two students’ unions based in Assam have issued statements condemning the assault of Alok Singh, an Assistant Professor in NEHU, which took place last week.
The Post Graduate Gauhati Students Union (PGSU) of Gauhati University and Assam University Students’ Union (AUSU), expressed shock and strongly condemned the assault.
Singh was allegedly attacked in his office at the university here by members of the NEHU Students’ Union.
The PGSU also condemned the “vandalisation” of the Vice-Chancellor’s official residents in November and “the lack of action taken against the perpetrators.”
