The Dorbar Shnong of Lachaumiere has condemned what it called “the incident of disregard of road safety of pedestrians and reckless driving”, which led to the injury of Dr Aman Warr, its Rangbah Shnong, in a road traffic accident on Friday evening in the city.
Dr Warr, a former senior health official in the state government, was hit by a two-wheeler at IGP Point, necessitating treatment in hospital.
In a statement, the dorbar expressed deep concern over the accident, for which it blamed the two-wheeler rider for “reckless driving” while intoxicated and being underaged.
“We strongly condemn the behaviour that led to this accident and implore all members of society to recognise the devastating consequences of such actions. Reckless and underage driving and alcohol consumption while operating a vehicle endangers lives and disrupts the harmony of our community,” the Dorbar Shnong stated in the release.
