Editor,
I would like to use this platform to express concern over rape cases that are still going on in our country.
We are aware of it that already there are Acts which were implemented against the rapes, but still this rapes are going on day by day. According to the National Crime Reports Bureau, as many as 4,28,278 cases of crime against women were registered. Nearly 87 girls are being raped daily in our country and this number is increasing year after year. Rajasthan recorded the highest number of rape cases in the country followed by Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.
There are many communities in our country which follow rape as a tradition for years and it is still going on. There are some families who do not report such rape cases to the police due to the fear of the society. What is the point of these laws when rapes are still going on? We don’t need another Nirbhaya and Damini.
But now even the kids below 15 years old do this crime without fear. Recently in our State a juvenile, a 14 year old boy, raped two minor girls who were siblings. One was ten years old and another was seven years old. After that the boy was arrested. Just imagine, even the kids are not scared of laws. This can’t go on forever.
Kindly consider this issue and highlight it in your newspaper so that more strict laws should be made against rape so that the criminals would think twice before committing this crime.
