Editor,
The recent unfortunate incident at Ichamati has once again evoked memories of what happened during the protests against the CAA and this time the murder cases are perplexing because no one knows who committed such gruesome acts and for what motive.
However, let us recall that when FIRs were filed against one Vicky Dey who instigated and spewed venom on social media channels and is supposedly believed to be a right-wing progeny of a fundamentalist organisation, he is still hiding and the Police Department is yet to even get a hold of the culprit.
The same matter was spoken on the floor of the State Assembly. So why does it take time for the State police to act on an FIR filed against an individual for insinuating a community despite proof and even a police complaint as well.
Now fast forward to the current situation let it be known that whosoever must have committed a crime deserves no mercy from the law, however until proven innocent. Such unbiased insinuation and mudslinging started is uncalled for. Let the law take its own view.
Unfortunately, some have tried to portray this as a tribal versus non-tribal issue which is irresponsible and this matter requires both sides to sit and resolve with understanding on how to tackle illegal migration for social and economic stability.
