Riyo Siangshai, the coal mine owner in Moolang has said that no coal was mined from her land and that the statement made by the farmer, was false and baseless.
In a statement here today, Siangshai stated that ever since the coal mining ban imposed by the NGT, no coal was extracted from her land and therefore, the claim made by Rida Dkhar that the extracted coal is being dumped on her land, that has cause destruction to her rice crop, is not true.
She said that the coal dumped there does not belong to her and her accusation was perhaps done at the behest of some vested interest who wants to extort money from her. “Dkhar and one Jopsing Latam and their friends used to demand Rs 30 lakh as compensation for the loss of her paddy field in the past, with threats to kill her,” the statement signed by Siangshai added.
She further stated that Dkhar herself was involved in the destruction of her paddy field, because she was and still mines coal from her own land.
