The Bharatiya Janata Party’s women’s wing (Mahila Morcha) has hailed Prime Minster Narendra Modi and thanked members of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha for voting in favour of the Women’s Reservation Bill.
“All these 27,797 days, more than 76 years after Independence, finally the BJP did it. All these years this Bill was proposed by many of our Prime Ministers, some did it perhaps as an election gimmick, but none could or more appropriately would do it. They all gave lip service, to this Bill, and are now trying to take to credit for this Bill in a game of one-upmanship,” the mahila morcha said in a statement today.
Stating that only the BJP under the leadership of Modi had the courage and determination to get the Bill passed in both the houses, with unanimous support from all quarters the statement added, “The BJP puts its money where its mouth is.”
The mahila morcha also slammed Trinamool Spokesperson, Ripun Bora for accusing the BJP for taking away the rights of the tribals. “Mr. Bora please note, Smti Droupadi Murmu a tribal, has been elected as the President of the Country, proposed and supported by the BJP,” the statement added.
