Shillong, Jan 11: The corporate social responsibility arm of Star Cement supported 78 pig farmers in East Jaintia Hills by donating CGI sheets for making pig sheds.
The sheets were distributed to farmers from villages including Brishyrnot, Pandare and Lumshnong.
Star Cement manager Kingshok Kamal Borah stated that the farmers had completed training last year, which had been sponsored by the company. The farmers will also receive piglets, aiming to uplift their economy, increase pig productivity and create employment opportunities.
