Shillong, Aug 17: The Spandan District-Level Senior Men’s Football Tournament opened on Monday at Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Tura.
The tournament is being organised by 22 Bn BSF under the Spandan Programme of the Sports Authority of India.
In the opening match, Simsangre United FC, Williamnagar, defeated Okrong Oktong FC, Ampati, 3-1.
Lalit Mohan Sharma, DIG, SHQ Tura, addressed the players and witnessed the match.
Officials said the tournament aims to promote football talent, discipline and team spirit among the youth of Meghalaya.
The event saw enthusiastic participation, reflecting the state’s strong passion for football and Ftr HQ BSF Meghalaya’s commitment to youth engagement and community outreach.
