Sngap Syiem College of Mawkyrwat were crowned the overall champions in the men’s and women’s categories of the NEHU Inter College Athletics Championship 2023, the college informed through a press release today.
The college won six gold medals in all – four in the men’s category and two in the women’s.
Wolbestar Ramsiej won two gold in the men’s 1500m and men’s 5000m races. The other gold medallists were Obanshan Nongrem (men’s 10000m), Wonderful Paliar (men’s half marathon), Wanresful Jyrwa (women’s half marathon) and Ibandarisha K Wanniang (women’s 10000m).
Wanniang also took a silver in the women’s 5000m race. The other silver medallists were Balashisha Kharjahrin (women’s half marathon) and Stainingson Syiemlieh (men’s half marathon).
The college’s bronze medallists were Jelmison Ramsiej (men’s 10000m and men’s 800m), Gracefull Marwein (women’s 800m and women’s 1500m) and Rupalin Wahlang (women’s 10000m).
