Sngap Syiem College, Mawkyrwat today held a function to celebrate the Grade B accreditation it received from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council.
The celebration was attended by Rajya Sabha MP, WR Kharlukhi.
Speaking at the function, Kharlukhi was hopeful that the college should aim to receive Grade A of A+ during the next cycle.
He urged students to work hard in life and said, “There are many prestigious universities like the Oxford University, Harvard University, Delhi University but there is another university, which students should enrol in, and that is, the Hard Work University.”
Kharlukhi was also positive that the announcement made by Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong last month, that the college will be covered under People’s College Scheme/Community College, will fructify.
President of the Governing Body Sngap Syiem College, Dr. K.D. Ramsiej spoke about the journey of the college.
Others who spoke were South West Khasi Hills Additional Deputy Commissioner, JU Kharpuri and Principal Dr KK Nongsiej. Students, teachers, alumnis and others were present at the programme.
