The Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team (SKAT) definitely made this International Women’s Day a memorable one.
During the air show, three jets made the formation of a heart above Umiam Lake to wish all the women out there a happy IWD 2024.
An inspiration to the youngsters, Flt Lt Kanwal Sandhu and Wg Cdr Gitanjali Singh said that this was one of their most memorable SKAT experiences.
Sandhu said that the great thing about the armed forces is that once you wear the uniform, you cease to be seen as a woman or a man.
“You’re seen as a soldier. This is the message that we also wish to pass on to the youth of the nation that they should definitely get inspired and join the Indian armed forces and help us in serving our nation,” Sandhu added.
“It is a commitment that you make to yourself that, yes, for everything and anything we are going to be serving the nation, no matter what and where. So it is not gender biased, it is totally gender neutral,” Singh chipped in.
