The PHE Department yesterday inspected the sites for the construction of a dam for augmentation of Gasuapara Water Supply scheme, while checking the height level, and also visited the Minneng stream.
The team went to the area where the two streams, Wa.dro and Minneng meet. A dam had been constructed earlier, but in the months of February, March, and April, the stream will be comparatively smaller, hence it will not suffice.
The height of the Treatment Plant (TP) is 357, a dam would require a minimum height of 380 m. The team therefore inspected areas with greater heights.
Tomorrow, the PHE Department will also be inspecting a stream named Amak Ki.dam, which goes to the reserves of Ronsepgre A.king and flows to the mouth of the Minneng stream.
There, the height will also be more than 400m and the water also flows to the Minneng stream , convenient for the construction of a dam.
