The Urban Shopping Complex Association (USCA) has written to the media stating its disapproval of the demand of the hawkers and street vendors for designated space for their wares on the top floor of the MUDA parking lot in Khyndailad here.
Originally meant to be housed on the ground floor of the complex, the hawkers want their designated stalls to be located on the top floor.
The top floor has accommodated vehicles belonging to MUDA, staff, shoppers, shopkeepers and members of the public and the re-designation of it for the hawker zone is concerning to local pressure groups. This would then hugely impinge on the flow of shoppers into the complex for lack of parking space and thereby shop allottees of the MUDA Shopping Complex would be left high and dry in terms of their economic activities at the commercial shopping complex.
