A lower primary school in Mekalpagre, South Garo Hills, is operating out of a room designated as a kitchen because no proper classroom exists for the students.
The school falls under Chokpot constituency and caters to 25 students. It is the only school in the village of Mekalpagre. The teachers have been taking classes for the Nursery to Class 5 students in the kitchen for more than six years.
Willison T Sangma, the secretary of the village council, requested the concerned authorities to address this issue and ease the difficulties of the students and teachers.
