An exclusive interaction and networking session on “India-Thailand Relations: Promoting Educational Collaborations with Northeastern States” was held at the Asian Confluence here today.
The event highlighted education as a key area of collaboration between India and Thailand, with a particular focus on human resource and youth skill development in the Northeastern Region (NER) of India.
A visiting Thai delegation led by Sasirit Tangulrat, Director General, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kingdom of Thailand comprises of officials and members from the academia.
In her special Tangulrat emphasised the growing importance of educational partnerships in fostering closer ties between Thailand and the Northeast. She also highlighted the need to work on educational, vocational opportunities for the youth, and tourism sector.
Sabyasachi Dutta, Executive Director of Asian Confluence, spoke on the future of human resource development in the region, outlining the potential for mutual growth through strategic partnerships. He further stressed on the need for multi-sectoral collaborations and the development of region-specific curricula, especially through vocational training programs to promote economic empowerment and youth engagement. He concluded by underlining the Asian Confluence’s commitment to nurturing human capital in the region.
The networking interaction had an enriching discussion exploring opportunities through a variety of programs and unique ideas, a press release said.
Present in the discussions were representatives from eminent educational institutions of Shillong, academicians, entrepreneurs, and representatives of vocational training institutes.
