The MDA cabinet today constituted a three-member search committee to select persons who will be included in the Expert Committee for reviewing the State job reservation policy.
Informing this after the cabinet meeting here, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma said that the search committee headed by Chief Secretary Donald P. Wahlang will have one member each from the Law Department and Personnel Department.
“The search committee will start working immediately and hopefully they will get the names at the earliest.” Sangma said.
He also informed that the Expert Committee would comprise five experts from different fields as mentioned in the recent notification.
The notification issued on June 1 stated that the chairperson and members of the Expert Committee shall consist of experts in constitutional law, economics, sociology, demographic studies and related fields.
“The Expert Committee shall take a review of the state reservation policy by obtaining views from all stakeholders and by conducting field visits to all parts of the State,” the notification added.
