Schools in Meghalaya are set to open fully from tomorrow.
It may be mentioned that the State government through a notification has recommended holding off line classes from Class I to XII in schools situated both in urban and rural areas.
The physical classes will, however, be allowed subject to adherence of Covid protocols. Consent of parents is mandatory for students attending schools.
Only 15-20 students will be allowed in a class at a given time and to ensure this, schools will call students on shifts or alternate day.
Schools have been asked to maintain a distance of six feet between two benches in a class room.
The teaching hours will be limited to three to four hours per day and no cultural gathering or sports events will be permitted.
Schools will have to provide isolation facilities and tie-up with local health authorities for any emergency situation.
The Deputy Commissioners have been empowered to assess the risk locally and decide on reopening of schools in areas under their respective districts.
The government has also stated that vaccination is encouraged for teachers and staff for the safety of staff and students, it also said that non-vaccinated teachers and staff would have to undergo mandatory RT-PCR test after every ten days and submit the test certificate to the school head.
