The State Bank of India (SBI) today handed over a modern ambulance equipped with a life support system to the Border Security Force under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.
The event was graced by Ashwani Kumar Tiwari Managing Director, SBI Mumbai and Kishan Singh Rana Deputy Inspector General, BSF SHQ Jowai along with other senior officials from both organisations.
The BSF said the ambulance will greatly enhance medical emergencies not only to the BSF troops deployed in remote border areas but also for the local population residing in these regions.
The initiative is expected to improve local synergy and foster better relationships at the grassroots level, a statement said.
As the BSF regularly conducts Civic Action Programme as per the needs of the border population, the SBI said after identifying their specific needs both have partnered and many such joint ventures will be undertaken in the future.
