In its bid to garner attention from the people towards development, the Meghalaya BJP held a bike rally called, ‘Rally for Development’ ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections 2023.
The rally started from the Madan Iewrynghep and concluded at the State party office at Bivar road here.
“The rally is a call by the BJP to the people of the state to choose development over all else in the coming elections,” the party said.
Stating that the “once-in-five-years kind” of politicians will come out of their cocoons again and try to lure the people with false promises, money, and propaganda against the development-driven by the party, the BJP said the rally is a call to wake up to these vices.
“Rupees five thousand now cannot and should not be chosen over five years of solid development,” the party stated.
State President Ernest Mawrie said that the rally is a celebration of the good work that has happened in Meghalaya under the Narendra Modi led central government schemes. He said that the party will highlight the work of the Central Government and impress upon the people that a BJP government in the state too will double the pace of development.
MLA A. L. Hek exuded confidence that the people will elect a BJP government in the coming elections as the party workers have put in their energy to spread information about the development works carried out by the Prime Minister to all corners of the state.
MLA Sanbor Shullai participated was also present at the rally along with the bikers.
